Two Ants on a Picnic

I've had a creative afternoon.  This is my first attempt at applique.  It came out okay, but I don't think there's a lot of it in my future.  

My friends asked for a picnic blanket. They have twin boys soon to be 2 years old, so I think they'll enjoy this one.  All told, there are 2 appliqued ants on the quilt, one for each boy.  I'll have to get it quilted this week and get it to them.
