Woohoo! This weekend I finished up the last quilt to be quilted on my board. There are still 2 remaining, but they are ones that I cannot do because they are too big for my quilt frame. I will have to:
It's been 7 weeks since I planted my Tomato plants and squash seeds. I have little tomatoes now. And there are lots of squash blossoms, but still no squash.
Mom grew up in a house that had a huge bleeding heart bush out front and every time she sees one, she tells me about it again. I found this huge bleeding heart bush and gave it to her for Mother's Day. It is really beautiful!
Went to Thelma's for Wednesday Group. This is our hand quilting group. We are between quilts right now, so Thelma did a nice little presentation on different techniques on marking quilts for quilting. She even had sample fabrics and templates and stencils for us to try. She even had handouts. See what happens when you as a former teacher to give a little talk..... While we were there, Gene gave us a tour of the greenhouse so we could see all of the blooming orchids. The local orchid society, which he belongs to, rescues non-blooming orchids from Whole Foods and keeps them until they are ready to bloom again and then they take them to the hospital to the cancer patients. There was a whole batch that would be leaving this evening, so we were there at the perfect time to see them.
